We are excited to announce that the VOA Hope Center, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) in Maryland, just went live with BH-Works at their Woodlawn and Greenbelt locations. The Hope Center, which was launched by Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas (VOACC), is projected to serve more than 500 children and adults over the next year. With federal funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Hope Center provides integrated care for community members with mild to severe mental illness, substance use issues, emotional problems, and other complex health profiles.
The Hope Center will treat anyone seeking care, regardless of their ability to pay. To make sure all requests for care are properly addressed, the mdlogix team has been working with VOA staff to configure intake processes within BH-Works. By tracking and managing all steps within the care process, the Hope Center is able to provide enhanced support to vulnerable populations. For example, staff use tools in BH-Works to ensure all people seeking care are contacted by at least one staff person and have an appointment scheduled within 24 hours of initial contact. This organizational standard helps to eliminate gaps in care for community members who may have experienced difficulties accessing support services in the past.
The Hope Center will also use BH-Works to electronically gather National Outcomes Measures (NOMs) data, a SAMHSA reporting requirement.
