Behavioral and mental health is the heart of bhworks, and it is one part of a bigger picture: districts that open bhworks find one platform supporting the whole child, whole state, with complete care.

Here is what bhworks covers.

Behavioral and mental health. The original work, and still the heart of the platform: universal screening, electronic consent, plans of care, case and group notes, referral and service tracking, crisis workflows, and telehealth.

Nursing. A whole-child health record for school nurses. Individual health plans, chronic and acute care, physicians’ orders, visit documentation, and universal health screening, charted with the NANDA-I nursing taxonomy, with Medicaid billing built into the visit flow.

Universal screening. Validated, evidence-based screeners run across a whole school or district from one roster, with results sorted into tiers so staff see the students who need attention first.

Special education and IEPs. The full IEP lifecycle on the same platform, from guided authoring through amendments, progress monitoring, and annual review, on state-configured templates.

Billing. Medicaid eligibility checks, service capture, claim submission, and compliance reporting, configured to each state’s rules, with the flexibility to keep a preferred billing vendor.

Attendance referral and truancy. Referrals, interventions, and outcomes for students who are chronically absent, tracked alongside everything else on the student record.

What ties these together is a Multi-Tiered System of Supports. bhworks gives a school one pathway to move a student who needs help, whether the need is physical, behavioral, or academic, through universal support for all students, targeted support for some, and intensive support for the few who need it.
